South Park has never been once to shy away from current events, and due to their real-time production schedule, they’re often able to address things as they’re happening.
Today, Comedy Central announced a one-hour special episode of South Park devoted to the coronavirus pandemic, and as you can see from the trailer above, it looks like a hoot, with Randy trying to cash in on the crisis with some sort of “pandemic special”, the kids going back to school and dealing with social distancing, and more.
Here’s the episode description: “Randy comes to terms with his role in the COVID-19 outbreak as the on-going pandemic presents continued challenges to the citizens of South Park. The kids happily head back to school but nothing resembles the normal that they once knew; not their teachers, not their homeroom, not even Eric Cartman.”
What’s amazing is that this episode marks the first time in the show’s 23-year history that there’s ever been an hour-long episode of South Park!
The all-new hour-long supersized episode titled will premiere on Wednesday, September 30 at 8pm ET on Comedy Central.
